The tube can be dropped down from the surface and attached to the sea floor surrounding the leak. Cables or straps could be used to offer strength and/or guidance. The tube has no constriction and, therefore allows the the oil to rise to the surface as it normally would, but will remail within the confines of the tube. Once at the surface, it can be removed from the tube within its small confined area defined by the tube. Those skilled in the art will readily recognize that the present embodiment can be practiced with various modifications, such as but not limited to, various shapes, sizes, materials, including fabric, or plastic, fasteners or elements for receiving fasteners, ground surface anchoring methods and components, etc.

I wish I could help fix this mess. It seems as if this simple solution would work. It works in your aquarium. This is only a LOT bigger. A gradual upflow is drawn, maintained by expanding and rising natural gas bubbles entrapped in the fluids. The 5ft wide (150cm) galvanized steel culvert tube could be reinforced anyway it's prudent, perhaps angle iron bands lengthwise, assembled, segments coupled in the drill rig frame as engineers advise. A funnel intake hood of say, 18ft (6m) across could be attached on bottom then positioned automatons and anchored.

I have read many reports about the BOP failure. Since the BOP rams are not functioning as required, I suggest drilling an new hole through the side of the BOP and use the drill rod to act as a new ram valve? Envision a Bridgeport mill mounted to the side of the BOP. The spindle with a cutting tool the diameter of the well bore would be fed by the quill of the same diameter. As the quill went into the bore it would effectively seal the bore. With a power feed transmission all the functions would be automatic. The basic question is: Is it possible to design a drill fixture that would mount to the side of the BOP to drill (or mill) into the well bore and seal it by the action of this new externally mounted ram? Is there a spot on the BOP that only has the well bore and not all the secondary pipes where the pressure could escape? I know it would take some very good engineers and accurate tooling, but certainly the engineering is all possible. Could this idea work in theory? If so can it be made into reality? I know it is very easy to just say NO to these unconventional answers, however this is a very difficult situation to remedy and I think this idea has merit.

Suggestion to convert the current existing 4 story structure to a cavitation chamber to prevent crystaline growth. Crystals formed when it was initially placed which made the structure bouyant and clogged.

In addition suggesting the installation of a reverse flow cap (anti-syphon) to be activated once the structure in full contact and sucked down to the sea floor (temporary cap). When the pressure drops in the chamber as it is centered over the pipe and contacts the ground, upward suction will stop and begin to draw from above. When that occurs, the cap/flap will slap closed using the weight of 5k feet of water to provide the pressure to keep it shut.

I am sorry it is ugly. The idea is what is important. I submitted this idea to BP 06/02/2010. The only way to prove it I figured was to Upload it to Youtube. So 2 weeks alter I wouldn't see them using it and say.. YEAH it worked great.
The fact this is so simple is why it will work so well. They have chambers they can pump liquid nitrogen into to, to cause the Oil to freeze. Then they can pump concrete into the system and wait for it to cure. Or just keep it frozen.

Gulf oil spill idea to stop Vertical pipe oil spill

Stoping a Vertical pipe oil spill. Due to pressures I cant just plug the line. If the unit was to be used a pressure sensor would need to be added to control the back pressure valve. Once this unit was sealed to the broken pipe, the back pressure valve could be opened all the way up. The seal could be made by using the hopper to dump shots of sealing compound or by attaching lines to the hopper and pumping in the sealing compound under pressure. You will notice on top of the oil and gas separator there is a weighted check valve. This is to control the pressure in the unit and not allow water to get into the unit. You must remember that when a gas reduces in pressure it takes on heat from things around it. In this case it is oil and water. The water will freeze if allowed to get in to the separator. If more oil gets into the separator then can be removed from the chamber then the oil will escape with the gas out the check valve. One more thing you must keep in mind, if you remove more oil the is supplied gas will get into the oil pipe and this will cause a slow down in oil retrieval due to the expansion of the gas a it reduces in pressure. This unit could be made to fit a vertical pipe but the unit would then be made to look like a wye. I dont know what this well pressure is but at 5,000 foot the pressure would be 151 atmospheres or 2,227 psi. The well is flowing so the pressure of the well is greater then 2,227 psi. Our gas wells around here run over 6,000 psi. Lets say this well is only 4,000 psi. We know the pipe is 26 inches so if you were to put a plug in it then it would build up 512,699 Force. Its hard to get a patch to hold up under that pressure.
I have been out of work Project design Engineer for over two years and I have been think the last few days instead of making my little videos to pass the time away, maybe I should be looking for a job. But then again that sound like work and I don't want to do that for another year.

The Idea: A CAPSULE POSSIBLE TO INSTALL.- The difference with the Dome-Idea is that you don´t have to figth against the forces of the oil coming out of the wellhead; since you put a cap with so many holes on the top (like putting a strainer under the water tap) that the oil won´t notice that the cap is there: IT IS TRANSPARENT TO PRESSURE // the base is attached to the neck of the wellhead, which gives a firm structure to add the cap to an axis who will keep the cap in place while you´re closing it. Before you close the capsule the hose that will lead the oil to the oil-tanker on the surface, will be connected to the higher valve on the top of the cap-crown; around this master valve there is several open valves (the strainer`s holes) that will be closed when the process is ready to stop this free oil and make it go through the hose that will lead to the oil-tanker.

The previous top hat solution didn't work
because of ice crystals forming inside the
structure.
The following is a simple solution to redirect
the oil from the ocean floor by essentially
building a box around the oil source.
The box's four walls are lowered as one piece
down to the ocean floor and placed around
the oil source.
The top of the box, or roof is then lowered
onto the top of the box walls, and then is
attached using large nuts and bolts.
The top of the box is equiped with a relief port
for connecting a pipe or other attachment.
The pipe or other attachment is then lowered
and connected to the evacuation port.
The oil is then directed up to the surface of the
water and into an oil collection vessel.

BP RITT Riser Insertion Tube Tool for Gulf Oil Spill Containment

This animation illustrates the intended use of the RITT (Riser Insertion Tube Tool) device to collect hydrocarbons from the broken end of the riser at the sea floor. The process is referred to on a BP graphics hand-out as "spearing" the riser. The 4" diameter steel pipe with disc-like rubber baffles is inserted into the 21" diameter damaged riser. The baffles are intended to inhibit the flow from the riser and assist hydrocarbons into the steel insertion tube for collection. To prevent ice-like crystals called gas hydrates from forming inside the riser, methanol is injected down the RITT through an injection line.
Hydrocarbons are funneled up 5,000 feet to the waiting Transocean Discoverer Enterprise.
According to BP, the RITT was installed on May 16, 2010.

This design will close the oil flow off. it must be done in stages with rounded edge's on the ram's so not to cut the casing. walk down the casing around 10 feet. this design can be easily built and put into place very easily. we need someone to contact me so we can gwt this built. I work for a major wellhead company and this is the kind of thing i do for our customer. Fix their problem. PATENT PENDING - This will stop the leak.
British Petroleum could make the pipe I have designed within a day or two. It would shut down the leak completely. ALSO, my device considers the danger of rupturing the system if a total shut down is done. My device also gives BP the means to attach a new pipe without encountering the problem of back pressure. You can allow 0 % - 100% flow rate.
Also, a pipe could be fitted at the top of my device that would bring the oil to containment above the surface of the water.
Tony Hayward needs to see this device.
I will be looking for investors to provide capital for development in exchange for an equity stake in my company and/or the patent.

Every day i take a look at the undersea oil spill webcam , nothing is happening, oil spills all the day , Bp says a new solution is ready at july.....tons and tons of more oil in the gulf...., news say thousands of solutions have be sended to stop the spill and 500 engineers are working on a new solution. this is a simple one,cheep and easy to build, it will work at 100%

A giant funnel to be installed at the scene of last month's devastating explosion off the U.S. coast, is BP's best hope of halting the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The device, designed to channel oil from the seabed to the surface where it can be collected safely, will be set up on Thursday. However, with the energy company itself not sure it will even work, Russian experts suggest that a radical solution from Soviet history may be a way out.
